How Long Will It Take?
The time it takes to sell a home includes many variables. If a home is priced right, the excitement of the market produces a higher sale price in relation to asking price. Buyers fear they might lose out on a good home when it is priced right and they see much more competition, which generates excitement and urgency. Real Estate salespeople make an effort to show your home to their most serious buyers who are well educated about asking prices in your area and price range. They will not waste their time on a home they consider to be overpriced or outside of a reasonable range for the market.
When you sell your home faster, you save on mortgage payments and home ownership costs. It is less inconvenient for you. If youve moved before, you know the energy it takes to prepare for showings; keeping your home clean and generally altering your lifestyle. Lets face it your home is no longer your own! The goal is to get through the process as quickly as possible and yield the best market price. This will allow you, the seller, to move on finding a new home!
The following is a very general guideline on how long it takes, based on single family and condominium sales combined for King and Snohomish counties:

The key to a successful sale is to have a pre-defined plan of price adjustments to achieve the balance of an ideal market price! The plan will vary depending on several factors. This is an important factor to discuss with your agent at the time of listing. |
